unble to download software / generate Token / only have xml file

Jump to solution

Hello everyone. I know it could be lame for some, but i am first time ordering software RSA Tokens. I registered all over the place that we were requested to. Finally able to get to RSA self service control page, then to comunity rsa page (where of course i cannot submit ticket, as many other people i noticed reporting here).

At the end i was able to log in to myRSA page, see my Site ID, Serial number....but, i have not option for software or anything. I have only XML file with serials from token.

But i need token file to import to app (or URL, or QR i guess). Here on comunity i was able to download MAC OS app, on Android via Google Play app too.

Any advice, how to get to stdid file (or how is that extension) or get those URLs?

Thank you.

@mochno,

We are glad you are here! Welcome to the RSA community. There are no lame questions.

It looks like you are now listed as a contact for your company and should be able to open support tickets through this portal or by email and phone. With an open ticket, your case will be assigned to an engineer who can assist you in more detail.

If you are looking to import a single authenticator to your Windows desktop, or to another device, you will need to install the correct app. The authenticator can be the .sdtid file that you mentioned or you can use other options such as CTF, Dynamic Seed Provisioning (QR Code or CT-KIP). You can get documentation on all of these options from our Docs and Downloads page. Note that these will take additional configuration steps on your Authentication Manager server.

Hello @EricaChalfin .

Thank you for your reply.

Per my note - i am unable to open ticket through portal. I have same error that i noticed on another "thread" many new joiners have.

My colleague opened somehow ticket and we are back and forth with support:

02487860 myRSA query [ ref:_00D70IwPy._5004u2wppaq:ref ]

Now - i have app, i found downloads etc. But, as i mentioned - I only have XML file with some serials. But APP require URL, or seed etc you mentioned. I dont know how to get that Seed. As under product page i dont have option.

Thanks for the help and your time.

Original problem is not solved @EricaChalfin @MohitVerman

https://download.rsasecurity.com is not resolvable.

I have no option to get seed files for Software Tokens to import to APP.  Is there any workaround or so?

Hello @mochno

Hope you are doing well.

Please refer to the following information to import a token seed file on the Security Console, assign the token to a user, create a token delivery method, and provision the token to a user.

1.Download the token seed file from the RSA portal:
- Go to the RSA portal and download the token seed file.
- Save the file to a secure location.

2.Import the token seed file into the Security Console:
- Open the Security Console and navigate to Authentication > SecurID Tokens > Import Tokens Job.
- Click Add New.
- Enter a name for the import job.
- Browse to select the token seed file that you downloaded.
- Enter the password for the token seed file, if applicable.
- Click Submit Job.

3.Assign tokens to users:
- Open the Security Console and navigate to Authentication > SecurID Tokens > Manage Existing.
- Select the tokens that you want to assign.
- Click Assign Tokens.
- Select the users to whom you want to assign the tokens.
- Click Assign.

4.Create a software token profile to select the token delivery method:
- Open the Security Console and navigate to Authentication > SecurID Tokens > Software Token Profiles.
- Click Add New.
- Enter a name for the software token profile.
- Select the token delivery method.
- Click Submit.
Add a Software Token Profile:

Compressed Token Format (CTF) Provisioning. Authentication Manager generates a URL, which you deliver to the user’s device. This URL contains the encoded token information needed by the software application.

5.Distribute the token to the user:
- Open the Security Console and navigate to Authentication > SecurID Tokens > Manage Existing.
- Select the token that you want to distribute.
- Click Distribute.
- Select the token delivery method that you want to use (The CTF delivery method generates a URL link through which users can easily import a token by clicking or copying and pasting it into the RSA app).
- Click Distribute.

- Share the generated CTF URL with the user and clicking or copy-pasting that URL users will be able to import the token on their device.

Distribute One Software Token Using Compressed Token Format (CTF)

Please raise a support case if you still encounter any difficulties so we can assist you better.

Thank you.
