Upgrading from 8.1 to 8.2: Documentation?

Jump to solution

Hi,

Looking to upgrade from RSA Auth Mgr 8.1 SP1 Patch 15 to 8.2, but I can't seem to find any documents specifically about this process. I see lots of manuals on either 8.1 or 8.2, but nothing on how to move from one to the other. I've  already found the software, so technically speaking I'm good to, but was just curious about the official procedures and documents.

Have tried searching & KB articles etc and despite having downloaded nearly 10 PDFs, I just can't find anything about migrating from 8.1 to 8.1. Hope someone in here can help!!

In the 8.2 setup guide you can find the upgrade info, page 77

RSA Authentication Manager 8.2 Setup and Configuration Guide

Basically this:

Make a backup of primary now, this can only be restored to an 8.1.x primary.

Upload the 8.2 update (like any other patch, it's an .iso file loaded into the ops console)

NOTE: replication will now be broken to all 8.1.x replicas.

Once primary is upgraded to 8.2, make another backup. This one can be restored to 8.2.x.

Next, upgrade the replicas, one at a time. Replication will be fixed for each replica that becomes 8.2.
