Summary:
RSA continues to provide our customers with updated and new solution capabilities for RSA Identity Governance and Lifecycle. The RSA Data Access Governance (DAG) offering is being updated to provide our customers with a more robust, open collection framework. These updates allow customers to leverage the latest industry-leading unstructured data collection and aggregation technologies – such as those offered by Varonis.
This updated DAG offering will be available as part of the RSA Identity Governance & Lifecycle 7.2.1 release (scheduled for September 2020). As part of this release, out-of-the-box collector templates will be available to make it simple and easy to collect from industry leading solutions; including recent versions of StealthBits StealthAUDIT platform as well as Varonis’ DataPrivilege solution offering.
Effective immediately, RSA will no longer be offering the Data Access Governance module that contains the unstructured data crawler capabilities (limited OEM component from StealthBits). RSA will continue to offer the Data Access Governance module component as part the RSA IG&L solution; which, provides the capabilities to govern unstructured data with data resource ownership reviews, data resource access reviews, incorporation into access policies and request processes.
RSA will continue to support our existing customers who have purchased RSA IG&L DAG with unstructured data crawler capabilities through February 2023, three years from the RSA IG&L 7.2 release date. During this period, customers can update and convert their RSA IG&L DAG maintenance to the standalone DAG (without crawler) maintenance to continue to receive support.
Why we are making this change:
The current OEM crawler capabilities only allow the collection from a specific set of data resources. Customers have been asking for the ability to collect from a broader range of resources, including resources that exist in the cloud – as well as integration with their Varonis solution.
This updated offering will allow customers to continue to leverage the RSA IG&L DAG module (that is available today) and realize benefits from an access and risk insight perspective, while allowing them to leverage the latest industry leading unstructured data collection and insight technologies, using an open framework approach. Many customers already own this module and leverage their own unstructured data collection process and technology.
Recommendation:
RSA strongly recommends and encourages customers to upgrade to the latest release to obtain the most recent updates and offerings. Customers that are interested in evaluating leading data crawler solutions, like Varonis, should reach out to their account team.
