SUSE 11 SP4 installation causes ORA-00600, ORA-07445 and ORA-04030 database errors in RSA Identity Governance & Lifecycle

Issue

After installing SP4 on SUSE 11, Oracle errors are seen when starting the Oracle database and severe performance degradation occurs causing the application to become unusable.

Examples of errors that occur during database startup:

Sometimes ORA-04030 errors are seen as well:

ORA-04030: out of process memory when trying to allocate 88 bytes (top call heap,kxsphpp)

 

Cause

Depending on the operating system kernel level, the upgrade to SP4 of SUSE 11 may cause this issue.
