macOS Ventura Impacting the Functionality of MFA Agent and Authenticator for macOS
RSA has identified an issue in the MFA Agent and Authenticator for macOS that occurs when user machines are updated with macOS Ventura. macOS Ventura was released on October 24, 2022 as an update to macOS Monterey. The official support for the macOS Ventura is planned and will be made available in the upcoming releases of the Agent and Authenticator.
RSA MFA Agent for macOS 1.4 or earlier
RSA Authenticator for macOS 5.0
When the user upgrades to macOS Ventura where the RSA MFA Agent and/or Authenticators are installed, users may run into issues affecting the functionality of the preceding RSA products. Some of these issues include failure of the application launch and UI action completion of multi-factor-authentication prompts.
While RSA is working on the qualification effort to assess the impact and possible workarounds, we recommend our customers to:
Avoid updating the macOS machines to Ventura where the RSA MFA Agent or Authenticators are installed, especially on the production environments.
Plan the upgrade of aforementioned RSA products once the updated versions are available.
Please stay tuned for the upcoming releases of RSA MFA Agent 1.4.2 and macOS Authenticator 5.1. For additional details on the products and new releases, please refer to Downloads and Documentation.
