RSA Announces RSA® Authentication Agent 1.0 for Epic Hyperdrive

Summary

RSA has launched a new Authentication Agent for Epic Hyperdrive to provide strong multi-factor authentication to Epic Hyperdrive users. This integration leverages RSA Authentication Manager 8.6 P3, to provide strong SecurID OTP as a step-up authentication option.

What is Epic Hyperdrive?

Epic is a cloud-based EHR built for hospitals with the functionality to handle the day-to-day operations of a practice. Epic is moving its current primary end user application, Hyperspace, to a web-based framework, Hyperdrive. With this transition, code-level changes are required for current web- and desktop-based Hyperspace integrations.

RSA Authentication Agent

RSA® Authentication Agent 1.0 for Epic Hyperdrive, built on REST based protocol provides stronger multi-factor authentication options to Epic Hyperdrive users. As Epic is transitioning from Hyperspace to Hyperdrive, customers need to deploy this new Agent for Epic Hyperdrive to secure login and/or workflow that requires step-up authentication.

The Authentication Agent is installed on Windows computer running Hyperdrive client. When user tries to login or approve a workflow in Epic Hyperdrive, the Authentication Agent communicates with the Authentication Manager in the network to manage authentication.
