I was wondering if Oracle 12.2 would be used anytime in the near future. We are about to spin up a new VIA server and our DBAs are wanting to use Oracle 12.2.

The 7.0.x version of RSA Identity Governance and Lifecycle currently supports Oracle 12.1.0.2 in both the appliance and customer deployed database scenarios. Oracle recently released 12.2.0.1 (March 2017) and we will be evaluating the support the second half of this year. At this time, as it is unknown if there are major changes in the latter Oracle version that would cause supportability issues, Oracle 12.1.0.2 is currently the supported and recommended version.
Yes, Oracle v 12.2 was evaluated and is supported as a customer supplied database version for IGL v 7.0.2 P05 and 7.1. The 7.1 Platform Support Matrix calls out this support for a customer supplied database environment only.
