Hi All,
Another day, another question. I have two Windows 2008 R2 servers successfully configured (by previous people) with RSA agent and authenticating fine. However, I just installed the agent to another 2008 R2 (a test machine). I logged out immediately after the agent was installed and then when I tried to login in, it would not accept the passcode.
I brought up the security console and started active authentication monitor and it does not pick up the authentication attempt at all. I then remote mounted its registry and under HKLM/Software/RSA/... I noticed that the server IP address etc were all 0.0.0.0. So I modified them to be what the other two servers have, restarted the server and still cannot authenticate and the active authentication monitor still does not pick up the authentication attempt.
Did I miss something during the agent installation and is there a way to rectify that remotely?
Cheers,
Vlad
OK. I managed to fix it. The issue was that the challenged users was not set.
I remote mounted its group policy editor and change it to allow password authentication and then entered my password in-place of the passcode and was able to login in and set the challenged users setting, reset the password to passcode in group policy and was then able to login using passcode.
