Version 7.0.1 Patch 2
appliance, OS red hat 5u11
How do you remove stale applications from appliance? I am assuming the customer was asking me how do you remove decommissioned applications from appliance. Since I am not sure what stale means in this context, assuming customer is referring to decommissioned applications (retired, no longer in use) that are located under Resources -> Applications menu in the UI is there any build-in (OOTB) functionality that could mark/flag decommissioned or legacy applications?
If not what is the best way to do this without modify any thing in the back-end?
Thanks,
Nasreen
There is no built in functionality to decommission applications (as far as I know).
You should try to understand what is the customer looking to achieve and then suggest an appropriate approach.
If the information related to the stale applications needs to stay in G&L for audit purposes, you can disable the collectors and then make adjustments in other areas of the product. For example: exclude the applications from being reviewed or disable the access from being requested and etc...
If there is no need to retain the information (of the stale application) in G&L, consider deleting the associated collectors and the application
