Dynamic due date for manual activities

I am building a common workflow that handles multiple forms and each form has different fulfillment SLA. I found no easy way to do so.

 

The only idea I could think of is by setting due date to 0 and triggering an escalation workflow which will have a delay loop (check once a day).

 

This has problems

  • Every request will have a escalation flag.
  • Potential performance issues as every manual activity will open another workflow (escalation WF)

 

 

Are there better ways to do the same ?
