What can be customized when using a 7.1 virtual application?

Question asked by Kevin Perkins on Apr 10, 2018

I'd like to find out what kind of customization is supported when using RSA IGL distributed as a virtual application (OVA/OVF). I'm especially interested in the following scenarios:

  1. Configuring multiple virtual application instances to use WildFly clustering
  2. Configuring the VM to integrate with enterprise authentication systems (i.e. AD)
  3. Configuring cron jobs to carry out monitoring tasks
  4. Connecting to networked storage to make files available for use by collectors
  5. Configuring LVM

I understand that the idea for these sorts of things is usually that you set it up and not touch it (i.e. it's a black box). Currently we use the software-only distribution to install IGL on our own, self-configured VMs. I'm wondering how different a virtual application would be.
