Does my version of RSA (RSA Authentication Manager 8.3) integrate with Azure Active Directory?
Please review page 20 of the RSA Authentication Manager 8.3 Setup and Configuration Guide that lists all supported external identity sources that have been tested with Authentication Manager 8.3. Azure AD is not supported.
That is not to to say that you won't be able to get it to work, but since it is not supported, if you run into any issues with the integration, we will ask you to change to a supported external LDAP directory server.
If you'd like, please post your idea to RSA Ideas for RSA SecurID Access. All ideas are reviewed by product management. The most popular ideas by number of votes, are considered for inclusion in future releases of the product, but inclusion is not guaranteed.
I was told by support that I would have to upgrade to Securid Access. Would that be a software upgrade or would that require and upgrade of my current appliances as well?
Since the Authentication Manager is within your internal Network, and we are unable to provide support in case that there are any issues, we do not recommend connecting the AM to the Azure AD.
A guide for the configuration can be found here Configure Secure LDAP (LDAPS) in Azure AD Domain Services | Microsoft Docs
Regarding SecurID Access:
RSA SecurID Access Overview
Regarding the "Upgrade" to SecurID Access, it is referring to the additional component of the Cloud Authentication service, as described in the link above.
As far as I am aware, we are not supporting it fully, but are providing "best effort". It is more recommended than the connection to the Authentication Manager, since the connection terminates in the DMZ, where the Identity Router needs to be deployed.
We are still evolving our products and are continuously adding additional support and features.
