Upgrade Appliance OS from SUSE 11 to 12?

The background ...

 - I've got one of the Via hardware appliances that's running SLEL11

 - A lot of the data I collect comes off of windows fileshares where SMBv1 support has been removed (because of MS patches that have been deployed over the past year or more)

 - SLEL11 will nolonger mount these fileshares no matter how hard you try... and as far as I can tell there's no workaround.  More info:  Can't mount a Windows share using the mount.cifs vers= option on SLES 11 | Support | SUSE

Could someone point me in the right direction to do the OS upgrade.
