We are on IGL v7.0.2P04 and need to upgrade our remote oracle database to 18c. What versions of IGL are compatible w/ this oracle version?
Per the Support Matrix , v188.8.131.52 (not 184.108.40.206) is supported in 7.1 as customer supplied DB
Update April 8th: the revised support matrix for 7.1.1 now shows Oracle "12.2.0.x" supported as a remote database.
See page 7 of IGL_7.1.1_Platform_Datasheet_and_Support_Matrix
18c is not yet supported for any of the current versions.
Mostafa - Please see the just revised 7.1.1 IGL_7.1.1_Platform_Datasheet_and_Support_Matrix which now shows support for 12.2.0.x (page 7)
6/27 update, despite that document's claim of support, we're seeing problems when testing with 18c. We're going back to 12.1.x
Here (#1) are more details, which we just learned from support, and also (#2) word from Engineering and Product Management
Oracle 18c is an unsupported version and has not been certified yet with the product.
While some people think that 220.127.116.11 is the same as 18c, it is not. Oracle has released several patches on top of 18.104.22.168 and 18c is essentially a higher version with patches on top of 22.214.171.124. Oracle has a bad practice of releasing functional changes in patches, and the issue the customer is seeing is because of the functional change released post 126.96.36.199.
Please tell them it is an unsupported version and they have to rollback the version to 188.8.131.52 or 184.108.40.206.
Engineering and Product Management gave us some word about when we might expect formal support for 18c in the future. I won't put their words in this posting, since it's about the future and they should reply here themselves if they wish to make the answer they sent privately to me, public on this forum.
