easing "add review escalations"

I have several review and have to set some escalations to each of them. I started to add escalations one-by-one but I am looking for a more easy way to do so. I found two ways but not sure if I could use them.

1. solution

I exported the review definitions and copied the review escalations part to each of the review definitions:

<reviewDefinitionEscalations class="linked-list">
<ReviewDefinitionEscalations>
<id>7</id>
<days>-1</days>
<fromStartDateStr>false</fromStartDateStr>
<reviewDefinitionVersionId>32</reviewDefinitionVersionId>
<workflowId>WF_VE_2</workflowId>
<perReviewStr>FALSE</perReviewStr>
</ReviewDefinitionEscalations>
<ReviewDefinitionEscalations>
<id>9</id>
<days>4</days>
<fromStartDateStr>false</fromStartDateStr>
<reviewDefinitionVersionId>32</reviewDefinitionVersionId>
<workflowId>WF_VE_1</workflowId>
<perReviewStr>FALSE</perReviewStr>
</ReviewDefinitionEscalations>
<ReviewDefinitionEscalations>
<id>8</id>
<days>1</days>
<fromStartDateStr>false</fromStartDateStr>
<reviewDefinitionVersionId>32</reviewDefinitionVersionId>
<workflowId>WF_VE_1</workflowId>
<perReviewStr>FALSE</perReviewStr>
</ReviewDefinitionEscalations>
<ReviewDefinitionEscalations>
<id>6</id>
<days>-7</days>
<fromStartDateStr>false</fromStartDateStr>
<reviewDefinitionVersionId>32</reviewDefinitionVersionId>
<workflowId>WF_VE_2</workflowId>
<perReviewStr>FALSE</perReviewStr>
</ReviewDefinitionEscalations>
</reviewDefinitionEscalations>

Unfortunately there was probably some collision cause doing this way on the GUI there was no escalations displayed.

In next step I corrected the id to a unique one. This way I could see the escalations on the GUI but I am still afraid that those IDs can make some troubles later.

2. solution

I checked the database side as well (t_av_review_escalations), I can see the following:

It seems ok to add a new record, I can get review_def_version_is and workflow_id as well. My only concern is that there are some gaps in escalation IDs. Is it secure to add a new record with new ID = max(ID) + 1? Is there an other table that uses this ID sequence?
