Our production is currently on IGL 6.8.1 p24. Will 6.8.1 p24 run/operate on RHEL 7?
6.8.1 is no longer supported so there of course will not be any official statement.
I am confident that 6.8.1 would not work on RHEL 7 due to Java dependencies.
Not exactly so. One of our environments is v6.8.1 P24 and it does run on RHEL 6x. RHEL 7 is a different issue altogether.
I believe Ian meant to say it will definitely not run on RHEL 7, not just RHEL.
You are probably right but we don't really know, do we? It's better to clarify than not.
I edited the typo in my post to say "RHEL 7" instead of "RHEL". Sorry for the confusion.
The answer is a yes if RSA IGL is deployed on WebSphere or Weblogic. This is all assuming that the version of the application server designated for 6.8.1 supports RHEL 7
Pradeep, that is a creative solution and it should work in theory.
I suspect this just defers the challenges to the application server level.
Tying to find a version of WebLogic or WebSphere that both can be installed on RHEL7 and supports the 1.6 JRE required to run 6.8.1 will be a challenge.
