Can I upgrade the RSA Authentication Manager straight from 8.1 to 8.4 without issue? Or do I need to upgrade by major update?
I've moved your question to the RSA SecurID Access space where it will be seen by the product's support engineers, other customers and partners. Please bookmark this page and use it when you have product-specific questions.
Alternatively, from the RSA Customer Support page, click on Ask A Question on the blue navigation bar and choose Ask A Product Related Question. From there, scroll to RSA SecurID Access and click Ask A Question. That way your question will appear in the correct space.

The upgrade path from RSA Authentication Manager 8.1 will be as follows:
To download the full kits for each version above, please read 000034558 - How to download RSA Authentication Manager 8.x full kits and service packs from RSA Link.
At each step, first install the full kit on your primary then on your replicas one at a time. If you use web tier(s), upgrade them last.
For more information, please review Upgrading RSA Authentication Manager.
To go straight from 8.3 to 8.4 requires that you load the update from local file or Windows share or NFS instead of uploading in the browser -- due to a limitation in 8.3, the 8.4 update iso is too big to upload via browser unless you apply 8.3 patch 6 first. Easier & faster to just load the 8.4 update iso from share or nfs or local.
