We have a v6.9 Certificate Manager installation which has a user limit license of 1001. Can anyone please let me know what this user license really means? Attached is a screenshot of the license page.
RSA Certificate Manager (RCM) licensing is based on "user" count. Since a user can have more than 1 certificate, a "multiplier" is used when the license is generated. Typically a multiplier of 10x is used, though in the past either 2x or 3x have also been used. So for a 100 user license under the 10x multiplier, RCM would be able to generate 1000 certificates before displaying an error. The RCM total certificates issued number also includes any SSL certificates issued by RCM for internal purposes like RRM/KRA or OneStep.
When RCM service starts up, a message like the following is written to system logs (e.g., in Windows Event Logs):
"Licensed to <company name> for <nnn> users. <n> users found."
The number of 'users found' is determined by the number of active certificates divided by the multiplier found in the RCM license file (license.p7 located in the <install_dir>\RSA_CM\Xudad\conf directory).
