where do I go to verify my licensing? Is there a download available?
You can View Installed Licenses for RSA Authentication Manager through the Security Console. Was there some other information you needed to capture?
Because I inherited this application, I was not around when the product was licensed. At the security console, I am told I can have 15 instances and 50 users with assigned authenticators. Over 300 tokens were purchased and imported successfully - but, I seem to have hit a limit with the 50 users. Was another license purchased? If so, where is it? If not, how do I get more users added?
There is a difference between licenses and tokens.
A license defines if you are a base or enterprise customer and how many active users you are allowed to have. See RSA SecurID Access Editions for the components available in each version. Tokens are the authenticators used to access networks and web pages.
Users, ticenses and tokens can be at any number in your deployment; they do not have to match. As an example, when searching for users in the Security Console, the mapping of an AD external identity source can list all 10,000 employees in the organization. When starting to use two-factor authentication, the company decided only administrators needed tokens, so a 50-user license was purchased. Later, it was determined that a group of company contractors also needed to authenticate, so 300 additional token seeds were purchased.
In any setup of Authentication Manager, what we count is active users; that is, the number of users to whom tokens are assigned. Active users can have one of more tokens assigned, but even with more than one token assigned, the user only counts as one active user. As you assign more tokens to users, you will see the active user count increase in the Security Console license page (or the number will decrease as you unassign tokens).
In your deployment if you want to assign one or more tokens to User 51 through User 300, you will need to increase your license from 50 users to 300 users so tokens can be assigned to the new users. To request a license increase, you can contact your RSA sales rep or your reseller.
If you purchased additional tokens but cannot locate them, they may still be available for download. Please contact RSA Support for more assistance. Using the Case Portal, open a new case, being sure to select Access Request for LIcense or Token Media. On the RSA Global Business Operations Case form, complete the required fields, making sure the To field is set to Customer Asset Management Incoming and the GBO Type is set to Token Media. Be sure to include your site ID, contract number or serial number in the Description, along with an explanation about tracking down token media that has been ordered.
