Hi Team, we want to upgrate version of RSA from 4.0 to 4.1. Currently we are running on windows 2003.
Please let me know how much downtime it will require and what is the risks involved in this.
Please consider moving this question as-is (no need to recreate) to the proper forum for maximum visibility. Questions written to the users' own "Discussions" space don't get the same amount of attention and questions can go unanswered for a long time.
You can do so by selecting "Move" under ACTIONS along the upper-right. Then search for and select: "RSA enVision" which would be the most relevant for this question.
When upgrading from 4.0 to 4.1 a typical upgrade of an ES system could be about 2 hours. An LS system could take about 4 hours. An EA system could take about 6 hours.
This does not include moving to 4.1 SP1 or migrating from Windows 2003 to 2008.
Thanks a lot for the information.
Ours is multi appliance series. And we also want to change the OS from 2003 to 2008.
Can you please let me know with this how much time it will take.
And also what all issues we might face during this migration ? Do you have any Plan for this. ( any documents)
You need to speak with your sales person in order to get the no charge Windows 2008 upgrade kits. These include the Microsoft COAs and licensing needed to run Windows 2008 on the appliances.
4.1 SP1 is required to upgrade to Windows 2008. There is a migration guide in the 4.1 SP1 documentation on SecureCare Online, located here. https://knowledge.rsasecurity.com/scolcms/set.aspx?id=9347
There are estimated times in the migration guide under Migration Procedure Timelines.
I would recommend carefully reading the Migration Guide, Release Notes, and planning out the upgrade.
