An authentication agent is a software application that securely passes user authentication requests to and from RSA Authentication Manager. Before an authentication agent can communicate with RSA Authentication Manager, you must deploy the agent. Deploying the agent is a three step process.
- First, generate the Authentication Manager configuration file (sdconf,.rec),
- Second, install the authentication agent on each machine that you want to protect*, and
- Third, add the authentication agent to the Security Console.
This video discusses generating the Authentication Manager configuration file.
*Note that many RSA Ready third party devices already have the agent software installed out of the box and do not need agent software installed.
