Issue
What pressure can an RSA SecurID SID700 or SID800 withstand?
Customer had questions surrounding the pressure a token is test against.
The pressurized cabin in the 57 is up to 24,000 (5.7 psi) usually. The unpressurized area is up to 65,000 (0.8psi). 38 cabin is 15,000 (8.29psi).
Resolution
RSA performs an altitude test that simulates a token in an unpressurized aircraft.
Altitude Testing Test Outline
Altitude testing is to performed to simulate the environment by which the SID 700 can undergo when being transported in an airplane. Typically in the cargo hole of the airplane.
Test Guidelines
- Devices will be placed in a vacuum vessel. The vessel will be placed in the environmental chamber.
- An altitude of 40,000 feet will be simulated (?24.38 inches Hg (gauge)).
- The temperature will be ramped from ambient temperature to 0º C for 12 hours, and then to 50 º C for 12 hours.
