Issue
Authentication Manager 8.1 SP1 conflict between NTP time and VMWare Host time, both set.
Operations Console - Admin - Date and Time has blank source.
System logs show conflict between NTP time and VMWare Host time.
Cause
Both an NTP server was configured (either at deployment, or later in the Operations console) and the Host Virtualization system, in this example VMware, was configured to provide Time to the guest operating System.
Resolution
- On right under Advanced the box was checked for VMWare Tools > Options Go to the vm image settings under
- Synchronize guest time with host.
- Uncheck that box to stop this conflict.
Workaround
Remove NTP settings in Linux and use VMWare for time.
