Issue
In Access Certification, you specify who performs the review. Alternatively, you can upload a coverage file that specifies who reviews what.
If you choose to have reviewers, that does not fall into the criteria of the top definition you can choose to create (Delegate) Reviewer and or Alternate Manager.
Resolution
(Delegate) Reviewer
- Users responsible for attesting
- Understands user access requirements
- Almost always part of review process
Alternate Managers
- Acts on behalf of reviewers
- Also understands users access requirements
- Required when reviewers can be away and review needs to be completed in stipulated time
The following are some functional differences that might help you determine to list the user as (Delegate) Reviewer vs Alternate Manager
- Alternate Managers cannot be viewed as reviewer under the By Reviewer tab by System Administrators
- Alternate Manager cannot be used as email recipient on ReviewReminderEvent email templates
- Alternate Manager does not get email from escalation
