'Error killing sessions for data import' error importing a database in RSA Governance & Lifecycle

Issue

An attempt to import a database (restore from a backup) results in the following error:

Cause

Prior to the import, a previous import was attempted and a Ctrl+C (^C) was executed sometime during the import of the database. A Ctrl+C is allowed up to 30 seconds into an import as evidenced by this message seen at the beginning of the import:

*** Also ensure that the server process is not running and that there ***

However, once 30 seconds has passed, aborting the backup could have unexpected results such as the error reported in this RSA Knowledge Base Article.

Resolution

Try the import again. This error only occurs once. Subsequent attempts will succeed without error.
