Issue
RSA Certificate Manager installation fails with the following error if SSL Keys are selected to be based on nCipher HSM:
Creating SSL server certificate:
*** Operation failed. ***
[XrcNOTFOUND: unable to locate requested member or object]
unable to set session resource [unable to locate requested member or object]
Cause
nCipher version 11.11 changed the file paths for its software installation on Microsoft Windows operation system, e.g., kmdata directory has been renamed to Key Management Data.
Workaround

RSA Certificate Manager expects the nCipher key data to be in %NFAST_HOME%/kmdata.  In nCipher software version 11.11, kmdata folder is created as C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data/nCipher/Key Management Data, and the environment variable points to this new directory path.

To work around this issue, follow the steps listed below:

  1. After a new nCipher software installation is completed, create a directory C:/nCipher/nfast/kmdata
  2. Copy all contents of the directory "C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data/nCipher/Key Management Data" to "C:/nCipher/nfast/kmdata"
  3. Update the environment variables to ensure that the previous environment variables which pointed to "C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data/nCipher/Key Management Data" now point to "C:/nCipher/nfast/kmdata"
  4. Install RSA Certificate Manager
