Issue

When attempting to access the Self-Service Console using the Web-Tier URL, the following error appears in the browser:

Error 404--Not Found

From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:

10.4.5 404 Not Found

The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.

If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 knows through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address

Cause

The Self-Service Console feature is disabled in the Web-Tier Service Options.

This commonly occurs after a new Web-Tier deployment or reconfiguration where the Self-Service Console option is not explicitly enabled. By default, this feature may not be active, requiring a manual configuration step in the Operations Console to turn it on.

Resolution

Enable the Self-Service Console Feature for the Web-Tier:

  1. Log in to the primary Operations Console using the Operations Console administrator username and password.
  2. Navigate to Deployment Configuration > Web-Tier Deployments > Manage Existing.
NOTE: When prompted, enter the superadmin username and password to proceed.
  3. Click the name of the affected Web-Tier.
  4. Select Edit.
  5. Under Web-Tier Service Options, set the Self-Service Console option to On.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Verify: Open a browser and navigate to the Self-Service Console URL using the Web-Tier hostname. Confirm that the Self-Service Console loads successfully without returning an Error 404 page.

Notes

Multiple Web-Tier Deployments: If multiple Web-Tier instances are deployed, ensure the Self-Service Console option is enabled on each affected Web-Tier individually. Changes made to one Web-Tier do not automatically apply to others.
