Issue
How to change "Common Name" of certificate, preserving the "Certificate Name" value
Resolution
1. Under Certificate Operations > Certificates > Active > find the desired certificate and select the blue link
2. Press the "Edit Certificate Name" button > Edit the certificate name > Press the Update Name button
How to modify the Common Name of the certificate:
You cannot modify the common name of the certificate under certificates active, but if you need to modify the common name of a certificate and wish to keep the original Certificate Name on the reissued certificate, you can first do the above procedure, and then: use the following procedure to generate a reissued certificate with a new common name. Most web servers require the common name to match the Fully-Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of the server. This procedure is useful if you alter the FQDN of a web server.
In the Administration console, perform the following steps:
1. Under Certificate Operations > Requests > Approved > find the desired certificate and select the blue link
2. Edit the Common Name before reissuing the certificate > Press the "Issue Certificate" button and complete the issuance
3. Update the Certificate in the field with the new certificate
NOTE: If you kept the same "Certificate Name" value here without performing the first procedure, the certificate would have a -1 append to it's "Certificate Name when you approved it
