Issue
The size of the smimeu.fpt file steadily increases by about 500 bytes every time SmtSession_Start() is called.
Cause
When a user starts a new session, the user's information (smimeu database files) is updated by deleting the old record containing the user's preferences and inserting a new one.  However, the old record is deleted from the database, but the space occupied by the old record is not returned to the file system.
Resolution
Obtain the latest version of S/MIME-C or the S/MIME-C 2.0 r14 patched library, currently available on Win32.  Download S/MIME-C Patch
