Minimizing known memory issue when issuing certificates over sustained periods with RSA Certificate Manager API
RSA Certificate Manager API exhibits small memory issue in certificate issuance over sustained use
Rational Purify memory analysis reports small memory issue in RCM API
The RSA Certificate Manager API exhibits a memory issue of less than 0.5kb/cert during prolonged continuous execution during certificate issuance
Cause
This memory issue is caused by a 3rd-party library outside of the RCM API codebase
Resolution
The memory issue is exhibited only during sustained and continuous certificate issuance via the RSA Certificate Manager API, for example for a time period exceeding 8 hours. This is not a generally supported best practice for the API product. The best mitigation for this memory issue is to restart the API application in a manner that makes sense for your environment and requirements.
