Unable to see quick links solution tabs or navigation menu after signing in with SSO

Issue
After running an LDAP synch and setting up SSO, users are able to successfully sign in but they are unable to see the quick links, solution tabs, or navigation menu.
Resolution
The users that are brought in initially are assigned the general user role. This role was restricted in their environment, so nothing could render in the environment upon signing in. After assigning users permissions to access solutions, they were able to see the missing components.
