how to test ports to test that am 8.7.2.5 to allow communications with our SNMP monitoring and to be able to run wget?
I'm trying to configure am 8.7.2.5 to allow communications with PRTG. I also need to install Dynatrace. I was told that I would need to open ports 161/162 UDP SNMP, 443, 9999 TCP, ICMP on the firewall. i submitted to have the FW rules put in place but i cant run the wget command to download the install. how can i test to see if the ports are open to the servers? it does not appear the np command works. To test if the appliance is listening on any specific port, run this command: "netstat -an | grep 161" or whatever port you need. It will show LISTENING if the port is open. The system has native support for SNMP, you do not need to install anything. Just log in as a SuperAdmin and go to Setup > System Settings > Advanced/ SNMP. We support SNMP v3, and both puts and gets.
I know that that command shows what ports are open on the RSA server but to check ports on another servers from the rsa command line. I was wanting to know what commands or utility from the RSA server I can use to test ports on server on the other side of the firewall.
Example: nc -zv <target_ip> <port_number>
