Why is this convoluted process needed? Why not just add an additional option in the operations console to select a file locally and allow us to use something like WinSCP to copy the file locally?

My question relates to Article 000067606 "How to apply patches from the local hard drive for RSA Authentication Manager 8.x"

  • @PatrickHerrmann (Customer) ,

Please submit your request to the RSA Idea Exchange for possible inclusion in a future release of Authentication Manager. Project Management will review your request and determine whether it will be included in a future release.

  • Hi @PatrickHerrmann (Customer)

The patching process is designed to be initiated and managed through the Operations Console, not through a locally-hosted file. The work around to install a patch through a local file is, unfortunately, a bit of an involved process as that is not the intended patching method. As my colleague Erica posted, I encourage you to submit a request for enhancement through the RSA Idea Exchange portal if this is a change you would like to see in a future release.
