We're aware of the Dell advisory covering the PERC H750, H755, and H755N controllers as documented in Dell KB 000223831.

RSA has seen these reports before, and in the large majority of cases this is a false alarm because the controller believes there's an ECC issue when there really isn't one. The worst-case scenario is an unexpected reboot, which is certainly disruptive, but those occurrences are uncommon. Dell's fix is included in the latest PERC firmware update, which is on our qualification schedule.

RSA is currently in the process of qualifying the new Dell firmware updates against our hardware appliance platforms, and we will publish the qualified versions and the associated update guidance on RSA Community once that work is complete.

Ahead of our announcement:

• Please don't apply the Dell firmware DUP to an RSA appliance ahead of our qualification. Wait for the RSA-published package and instructions so you stay within a supported configuration.
• Dell's procedure requires more than just the firmware flash: after updating, the system must be gracefully powered off (not warm-rebooted or reset), left off for at least 90 seconds, and then powered back on for the new memory-initialization settings to take effect. Our published instructions will reflect this.
• If you're seeing any of the symptoms described in the Dell article in the meantime, please open a support case and include the appliance model, serial/service tag, and an iDRAC SupportAssist collection so we can assess your specific unit.
