Update System Date and Time SettingsUpdate System Date and Time Settings
RSA Authentication Manager requires accurate date and time settings for replication and authentication. For each primary or replica instance, you can change the date and time settings. For example, if you were unable to specify an Network Time Protocol (NTP) server during Quick Setup, you can log onto the instance and specify an NTP server now.
Note: Changing the system time by more than 10 minutes will result in authentication failures. Call RSA Customer Support before changing the time by more than 10 minutes on a primary or replica instance.
Procedure
-
In the Operations Console on the primary or replica instance, click Administration > Date & Time.
The Date and Time Settings page displays the following information:
-
Time Source. The source that the appliance uses to determine the date and time. This is one of the following:
Hardware Clock. The system time is based on the hardware appliance time.
NTP. The system time is synced to a network time protocol (NTP) server.
The physical machine hosting this virtual appliance. The system time is based on the time of the hardware that hosts a virtual appliance.
The time displays in the following format: YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS TZ, or year-month-date hour:minute:second location.
-
Time Zone. The region in which the appliance is located.
-
Current System Time. The current date, time and time zone set for the appliance.
-
-
Click Edit.
-
In the Time Zone section, do the following:
-
In the Region field, select a region, for example, America.
-
In the Location field, select a new time zone. If the time zone uses Daylight Saving Time, two offsets from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) are shown, for example, (UTC-05/UTC-04) New York.
-
-
In the Time Source section, choose how you want the time to be set on the appliance, manually (hardware appliance only) or automatically (hardware or virtual appliance).
To automatically synchronize the time on a hardware appliance or virtual appliance to an NTP server:
-
Select Sync to NTP Server.
-
Enter the hostname or IP address for a local or Internet Network Time Protocol (NTP) server.
You may enter a second NTP server.
To automatically synchronize the time on a virtual appliance to the VMware or Hyper-V host machine:
Select Sync to the physical machine hosting this virtual appliance.
To manually set the time on a hardware appliance:
-
Select Set System Time.
-
From the date box, select the date.
-
From the time drop-down boxes, select the hour and minute.
-
-
To apply the updates, click Save & Restart. A warning message displays.
-
Verify that the changes in the warning are correct.
-
After verifying that the changes you made are correct, in the Confirmation section, select Yes, update the date and time settings and restart services.
-
Click Update Date & Time.
