Issue
Access tokens are what the applications use to make API requests on behalf of a user. The access token represents the authorization of a specific application to access specific parts of a user’s data. OAuth is an open standard for access delegation.
Customer has a couple of applications in which they would like to use RSA Identity Governance & Lifecycle's Web Service APIs and would like to set up trust-based on the OAuth tokens.
To be more specific, they are looking at OAuth token usage when a new Change Request needs to be submitted using RSA Identity Governance & Lifecycle Web Service API to authenticate and authorize the requestor.
Resolution
- The RSA Identity Governance & Lifecycle OAuth 2.0 generic framework provides token generation support for connectors and collectors only.
- The RSA Identity Governance & Lifecycle OAuth 2.0 generic framework does NOT support Web Services.
