Issue
The IBM Host On Demand Application is protected with SecurID. It is composed of many URLs and the RSA Authentication Agent for Web protects all of them. For one particular URL, user gets the message Authentication Succeeded with RSA token credentials but then it downloads the associated user1WS.jnlp file.
When the user tries to open the file, we get the following error:
Unable to launch the application
When clicking on the Details button, the message below is seen:
Error: could not parse launch file. Error at line 162
Cause
In IIS, under Default Web Site, Enable RSA SecurID Web Access Authentication and Protect This Resource are both checked for the RSA SecurID settings so the website stays protected with the RSA Authentication Agent for Web.
Resolution
In IIS,
- Under Default Web Site,
- Check the box Enable RSA SecurID Web Access Authentication.
- Uncheck the boxlabeled Protect This Resource.
- Expand Default Web Site to see the Virtual Directory folder associated with this particular Application.
- Select Virtual Directory and change the RSA SecurID settings inside by unchecking the option to Protect This Resource with RSA SecurID.
This way the URL is still protected by the RSA Authentication Agent for Web but when the JNLP package needs to be downloaded/opened, the user won’t get that Java parsing error.
