Issue
RSA Security Products and system hardening
Cause
Due to the environment, there can be no defined method of problem resolution on a hardened system should the RSA Security product fail to function
Resolution
RSA Security does not qualify RSA Security Products on hardened systems (other than some of our products that are supplied by RSA Security on appliances with a RSA-specified hardening configuration). As system hardening is not an industry standardized procedure, RSA Security Customer Support will make best efforts to try and determine why a customer's particular configuration will not work. That said, one of the first steps in the troubleshooting process is to ask the customer to go back to a standard operating system configuration and apply the hardening steps one at a time to reveal where the incompatibility or problem occurs.
If you need to harden a system where an RSA Security product is installed, please contact
RSA Security Professional Services who provide consultant services in this area.
Workaround
Hardening procedures vary from company to company depending on security policies. Due to different hardening policies being implemented on different operating systems, there is no defined standard for hardened systems.
