Deploy an Authentication Manager 8.1 primary with new name and IP if you want it on the production network. We can change the name and IP to the Authentication Manager 7.1 primary name and IP address later.
Do not deploy an Authentication Manager 8.1 replica, as you cannot simultaneously import data into the Authentication Manager 8.1 primary and expect it to replicate that same data.
- Create migration package with the Authentication Manager 7.1 export utility, optionally include logs if you want to run reports in 8.1 for data from the last 30 days (default).
- Import/migrate the package file into the Authentication Manager 8.1 primary from the Operations Console.
- Shutdown the Authentication Manager 7.1 primary. Leave the Authentication Manager 7.1 replica up if you want users to still authenticate.
- From the Authentication Manager 8.1 Operations console change the FQDN and IP address of the Authentication Manager 8.1 to match the old Authentication Manager 7.1.
- Open the Real Time Authentication Monitor on the Authentication Manager 8.1 primary to verify it authenticates users.
- Stop at least the Authentication Manager service on the Authentication Manager 7.1 replica.
- Verify that your new Authentication Manager 8.1 primary is authenticating.
- If necessary, uninstall your trial license on Authentication Manager 8.1 and import your production license .
- Shutdown the Authentication Manager 7.1 replica.
- Deploy your Authentication Manager 8.1 replica.
