Issue
Enable or disable Authentication on Primary and Replica servers.
Resolution
There are two locations which require configuration, in order for a Primary or Replica Server to Authenticate.
ON UNIX:

1. To activate or deactivate authentication on the Primary, or on a Replica: From the $USR_ACE directory, run './sdconfig -config', or 'sdsetup -config'.  Say yes to the requester "Do you want to configure an acting Master server?" Add the Primary or Replica name as the Master server to activate authentication, or delete it to deactivate.

2.  Start ACE/Server administration (sdadmin), and select Agent Host from the Main Menu. Select 'Edit Agent Host'. Select Assign Acting Servers. Assign or unassign the Primary or Replica server as a Master server in order to enable/disable authentication on that server.

ON WINDOWS NT OR WINDOWS 2000:

1. From the Primary: Click Start > Programs > ACE SERVER > Configuration Management. In the Legacy Server Identification box, select the Acting Master field. Enter or remove the name of the server from which you want to activate or deactivate authentication.

2. From the Primary: Click Start > Programs > ACE SERVER > Database Administration. Select 'Agent Host' from the Main Menu. Select 'Edit Agent Host'. Select 'Assign Acting Servers'. Assign or unassign the Primary or Replica server as a Master server in order to enable or disable authentication on that server.
