Issue
By default, if an approver rejects individual change items in a change request, the entire change request is rejected. This article explains how to modify the default behavior to allow approver(s) to reject individual change items without rejecting the entire change request. This can be done with transition nodes in approval workflows.

Tasks
Set the appropriate transition option to allow individual changes to be rejected.
Resolution
  1. Edit the approval workflow where you would like to allow approvers to reject individual changes.
    • User-added image
  2. Double click (or right click and choose Properties) on the Approve/Reject transitions for this approval workflow.
  3. On the Transition Type tab, check the box at the bottom labeled When this button is selected, individual changes can be rejected.
    • User-added image
  4. Choose OK or Apply.
  5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 for any other transitions where this behavior is desired.
Notes
These transition names and Email Reply Answers (bottom right of the transition properties) must be unique within the workflow, otherwise an error indicating the name already exists is thrown and you will be unable to save the changes.  This typically only impacts workflows where there are multiple levels of approval.
