Issue
EnVision 4.1 upgrade error: 'Folder in Use' error
When performing an upgrade from enVision 4.0 to 4.1, the following error appears during the middle of the upgrade.

- Folder In Use. Unable to to rename 4000 to 4100.

Cause
This error means that there is a Windows file handle open which is currently accessing the e:\nic\4000 folder. The EnVision upgrade process requires exclusive access to this folder in order to rename it.

Resolution
Please check Windows Task Manager and ensure that any tasks which may access this folder are closed and not running.

In addition to task explorer, there is a freely available 3rd party utility called Process Explorer by Microsoft SysInternals - 'procexp.exe'' .
It is not required to be installed, but can simple be run on the EnVision appliance box.
To use Process Explorer run it and select Find -> Find Handle or DLL...
Enter for Handle or DLL substring: 4000
Search

This should show the applications still accessing the e:\nic\4000 folder.

After stopping the process which is accessing the e:\nic\4000 folder, click on 'Retry' which is shown on the Upgrade Folder In Use error, and continue the upgrade as per normal.

Notes
Applications such as Anti-Virus are most likely suspects as they can hold folders open for scanning.

Also check on the taskbar and ensure the WinSSHD Control Panel is not running.  If it is, right-click -> Close Control Panel.
