Question on snapshot

Does RSA recommend stopping all services to take a vmware snapshot? This is not called out in the documentation specifically but curious if it's recommended or required because of the database?

    Hi @DavidBerner (Customer) ,

Assuming you are asking about taking a VMware Snapshot of Authentication Manager, the following options should be specified when taking the snapshot:

    • Do not save the virtual machine’s memory.
    • Choose to quiesce the guest file system. (This option pauses running processes on the Authentication Manager instance.)

These two options are mentioned in the "Authentication Manager Setup and Configuration" guides.

You should not have to manually start/stop the services on the AM servers for a snapshot.
