JLaw007 (Customer) asked a question.
I am new to RSA and I am working on a windows MFA solution with RSA SecurID licenses. I am trying to determine which agent I should be using with RSA authentication manager 8.7.x. I have been able to get "RSA Authentication Agent" installed on a Windows 11 workstation and working with a hardware token code. I have not been able to get "RSA MFA Agent" to work as it keeps giving me an error about unable to find an authentication agent when I look at the monitoring logs in AM.
which one should I be using???

Welcome to RSA!
The RSA Authentication Agent 7.4.x for Windows is a UDP-based agent for authentication to your Authentication Manager server. This agent was end of lifed in June 2024. While this agent will continue to work with any supported version of Authentication Manager, engineering will not develop any additional hot fixes or patches for it.
We recommend that you transition to the RSA MFA Agent 2.3.4 for Windows, our new REST-based agent. It, too, is compatible with any supported version of Authentication Manager. More details can be found in this advisory posted about the agent.
Each install of the 7.4.x agent needs its' own entry in the Security Console (Access > Authentication Agents > Manage Existing/Add New). You can install the REST agent on multiple servers and use just one agent entry in the Security Console; one named MFA_Agent, for example.
It sounds like there is a configuration issue that you need some help resolving. Contact RSA Technical Support and we'd be happy to assist you in getting your agent working as it should.
Question, is there a document on how to configure "authentication agent" for the REST MFA agent?? I have found documents that gloss over the process but no specifics examples, like what name do I use and what IP address do I use for this one agent entry for REST, etc.
Thank you for the explanation between the two agents !
