We are excited about the new SecurID 3.0 app that is targeted to begin rolling out on June 21, 2021. We want all users to have this update and enjoy using it. This app will make it easier than ever for iOS and Android users to manage multiple software tokens, generate tokencodes, and view token information all in one place. For details, see this advisory.
Do users have to do anything to get this app?
If auto-update is enabled on users’ smartphones, users will get this app automatically. Otherwise, they can download it from the Apple or Google Play app stores.

Will all of my users get the app on June 21, 2021?
No. We will begin publishing the app on June 21, 2021. The Apple and Google Play stores will stagger the rollout until the app is available to all users one week later.
My users already have tokens on their smartphones. Do they need to re-import them?
No re-import is necessary. Your users are ready to go as soon as they get the app. The same tokens will remain on their devices before and after the app update. You do not need to distribute new tokens to users who already have tokens on their devices.

How will users import new tokens?
Token import works in exactly the same way as it did for the old app. Nothing new to learn here.

Can users perform the same actions on their tokens, such as renaming and deleting tokens?
Yes they can. The new app has a card-style user interface designed for improved usability and greater accessibility. Users will be able to easily view, import, rename, and delete software tokens on their device. Tokens will display on cards that users can view in a grid or list that they can re-order.

Suppose a user wants to keep the old app. Will it be available in the app store?
No, the old app will no longer be available for download. The new app is replacing the old app in the app store. But we kept the "Token" name to ensure that your users can still find the app after it is automatically updated with the new app logo on the home screen. Users who choose not to download the new app can still use the old app to authenticate.
