"Unbalanced parenthesis" error when running an LDAP collector on RSA Identity Governance and Lifecycle

Issue
When attempting to collect against an LDAP source, you may receive the following message: 
Unbalanced parenthesis

This may also happen when attempting to use the Test button on an LDAP-based collector.
Cause
This error means that there is an extra open or close parenthesis in your LDAP query.
Resolution
Check your LDAP query to make sure there are no unmatched open or close parenthesis. The example below has an extra parenthesis at the end of the LDAP query which will cause this error.

In some cases, you may need to simplify your query to remove extraneous filters that may erroneously trigger this error.
