There is no base OS, the OVA image comes pre-built on SUSE Linux, currently v15/SP3. The only supported platforms for hosting the virtual appliances are VMWare and Microsoft Hyper-V.

Authentication Manager 8.7 SP2 (currently the latest major version) uses "SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 15 Service Pack 3". Additionally, the "RSA Authentication Manager 8.7 SP2 Setup and Configuration Guide" found on the following page discusses the platforms that AM 8.7 SP2 is supported to be deployed on: https://community.rsa.com/s/article/RSA-Authentication-Manager-8-7-SP2-Setup-and-Configuration-Guide
